  • Utilize your current finely-tuned Lean Six Sigma expertise to make an immediate and dramatic impact on the business unit’s continuous improvement initiative
  • In the role of “apprentice” to the site’s present Operations Director, learn the ins and outs of what it takes to run this operation successfully for continued growth and profitability
  • As rapidly as possible, and as quickly as you’ve demonstrated that your on-the-job training has given you what you need to be successful, assume position as Operations Director

The person we are seeking will initially assume the role of site Lean Manufacturing Manager, reporting dually to the current site Operations Director and the company’s VP of Integration and Continuous Improvement (CI).  We expect that, as Lean Manufacturing Manager, our successful candidate will continue driving the unit’s Lean Six Sigma transformation initiatives within the context of the existing company-wide CI game plan.

Additionally, however, this individual will also be involved in extensive on-the-job training, and we envision the first eight to 12 months of this person’s tenure as an intensive immersion in every aspect of what it takes to run this complex manufacturing operation. Candidate should expect to move into the Site Director’s role, or similar position elsewhere within the company, in about 18 to 24 months.

The company’s operation in Pennsylvania is centrally located along the Harrisburg-Scranton corridor and is the key manufacturing site serving the Specialty Performance Materials Group, which offers a wide variety of performance fabrics for both consumer and industrial applications.  Wherever there is a need for a specialized material, these highly-talented textile engineers use their expertise in fibers, construction and finishing to develop the right solutions. Customers range from the military to the health industry, and from technical/performance sportswear to window fashions.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A talent for incorporating the principles and practices of Lean manufacturing to bring about quantifiable improvements in profitability, productivity, inventory, staffing and quality
  • Strategic thinking and execution, visionary and change leadership, interpersonal effectiveness, and demonstrated success with high-performance  team development
  • An ability to develop  strategic plans and execute projects and events to achieve the future state plan
  • Functional expertise with Lean manufacturing tools, practices and principles
  • Exceptional problem solving ability combined with a driven results orientation
  • A demonstrated ability to recognize, attract, develop and promote outstanding talent

Travel – Occasional domestic and possible international travel. Not a road-warrior job.

Compensation – Excellent base salary and incentive bonus plan. Relocation assistance provided.
